STEP 01

Upload & Encrypt

You enter a passphrase. Your browser derives an AES-256-GCM key via PBKDF2 (100K iterations) and encrypts the file locally. The server never sees plaintext.

STEP 02

Fragment with Erasure Coding

The encrypted blob is split into 6 fragments using Reed-Solomon 4-of-6 coding. Any 4 fragments can reconstruct the file — it survives 2 device failures.g.

STEP 03

Distribute to Phones

Fragments are assigned to 6 different host phones based on trust scores. Devices poll the server every 30 seconds and download their assigned fragments.

STEP 04

Verify & Protect

SHA-256 integrity checks at 7 checkpoints. Proof of Storage challenges verify hosts still hold data. Hash-chained audit trail logs everything immutably.

Zero-Knowledge Guarantee

The platform operator with full database access cannot decrypt any user file. If you lose both your passphrase and recovery phrase, your files become permanently unrecoverable.
